Leviticus 16: 1-34
The Day of Atonement: God opened the way for Israel to draw near through the mediator and sacrifice He appointed.
1. A Prepared Priest approaches God
God's holiness set the boundary (vv. 1-2)
God's instructions marks the way (vv. 3-10)
2. A Provided Sacrifices makes atonement
The priest first atones for himself (vv. 11-14)
The blood cleanses the people (vv. 15-19)
3. A Purged people leave their guilt behind
Confessed guilt is carried away (vv. 20-22)
Cleansed people worship humbly (vv. 23-34)
